Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary Celebration and International Confluence
Rickenbacker International Corporation is pleased to announce a 3 day event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of both our company, and the electric guitar. The event will kick off on Friday August 25th, 2006 at the Doubletree Club Hotel in Santa Ana, travel to the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, and finish up in Hollywood at the House of Blues.

The events at the Doubletree will include poster signing events with artists, a showcase of RIC guitars, and impromptu jam session, and will serve as a rendezvous point for 2 tours of the Rickenbacker factory.

** Please note that there are two Doubletree Hotels in Santa Ana, this event is being held at the Doubletree CLUB Hotel, not the Doubletree Hotel Santa Ana/Orange County Airport.

Located in Carlsbad, CA, the Museum of Making Music tells the remarkable story of the innovations that shaped popular music. The Museum has over 500 vintage instruments on exhibit as well as a number of temporary exhibits, such as the "Brother Musician, Listen to a Miracle" exhibit that will make it's debut on August 26th. This exhibit will tell the story of the birth of the electric guitar and take visitors through the evolution of this innovative instrument created by Rickenbacker. Several rare and vintage Rickenbacker guitars will be on display.
After perusing the exhibit, attendees will enjoy a special performance by Paul Kantner. Kantner, who has been entertaining audiences for over 40 years since co-founding the group Jefferson Airplane/Starship, will be performing a special acoustic show, along with Marty Willson-Piper. Proceeds from the show will go directly to the Museum of Making Music.

For the grand finale of our three day celebration, a benefit concert will be held at the House of Blues in Hollywood: "75th Anniversary of the Electric Guitar Presented by Rickenbacker." This concert will feature a full electric performance by Jefferson Starship, Chris Squire, The Smithereens, Billy Hinsche, Minus 5 with REM's Peter Buck, and Hautewerk. The show will be Emcee'd by Billy Hinsche, founding member of Dino, Desi & Billy.
