Wow, I've tried doing that with the "A HREF" tags but just couldn't get it to work... Maybe I'm just dumb or something... Or maybe only RIC staff can do it, I dunno. :P
Ironically, John Hall's links work but redirect you to a "no hotlinking" page, whereas if you copy and paste, they work.

I mentioned something on another thread, and would like to retouch if I might. I have a book, The complete history of rickenbacker guitars, by Richard R. Smith. On page 205 there is a picture of what is referred to as a 1967 experimental 4001s with two under-string pickups[toasters] A pickguard and electronics suite like the 4005. Very clean, sweet looking bass to my eyes.I could easily see a 4004 making the leap. Just a thought. Mark

OK, here's another idea for the 80th anniversary, a reissue of the famed "The Whaam" Model 330. I guess I'm a bit partial to that one, being a Jam and Weller fan. That looks like it would take a month of Sundays to paint though. Maybe not a production item. http://www.rickresource.com/stt-research/jamwhaam.jpgI know all the Rick traditionalist are throwing up right now.

Quote: Here is my vote : The 490 , Mr.Hall's own baby, would be the perfect 80th anniversary guitar : http://www.rickenbacker.com/gallery_ima ... _year=1980a limited edition signed by JH himself! That's the guitar in the Rickenbacker video that JH says was the first guitar he built, isn't it? In that Gallery photo, it looks a bit plain to me, but in the video, I thought it looked gorgeous (the binding helps). I think RIC ought to produce that, even if they forgo the technological bits like interchangeable pickups and electronics. I like the look - not every RIC solidbody has to be a cresting wave, does it? That said, I think they'd have a bigger hit on their hands if they brought back the F model.
