I know- stuff that sawdust (finely shaved of course!) and stuff dog beds with it (like cedar chips.) That way your canine companions can be the envy of the neighborhood, having a Rickenbacker sawdust bed. And the aroma... Mmmmm! Like the smell of a brand-new Ricky!

I think cedar may be more appropriate for that purpose! Actually, part of the problem is the inconsistency of what we have as it varies from shavings all the way down to fine dust. Different dust collectors output different sawdust but it varies so much depending on the models and operations being done on a particular day.

Wood scrap is a whole other issue. We have so many shapes and sizes of scrap, and it's so sad to see all that go in the dumpster but no one wants it. Now if we could only figure out how to burn it and get air conditioning out of it . . .

What we need nearby is a Pinocchio doll factory- wooden head, sawdust filled body.

We went to LS South on a Sunday when the north location was closed and what can I say, They're both so good it makes my mouth water just thinkin' about it ....

Some of the artisans @ the Sawdust would prolly take the wood scraps of your hands and turn them into cups and bowls or something ...

Howdy,

I understand the Rickenbacker has a well known competitor in Tennessee who donates THIER scrap and/or sawdust to Jack Daniels so they can fire up thier boilers with it!

Well, that's something I missed the last tine I was in Lynchburg. All I saw was a bunch of computerized machinery making whiskey although they did have a nice bunch of wood barrels.

Not to mention spending a long hot day there and only getting a lemonade out of it.

John, I bet Orange Coast College would gladly take it. I've been taking some woodworking classes there and we're always looking for scrap pieces to practice with.
