Post subject:  Them big upper bouts

Sometimes I have been guilty of thinking that the upper bouts on say, 330's or 381's, looked slightly too large, not that they aren't beautiful guitars.

They aren't typical cutouts of a normal non-cut, which would follow the contour lines of the original shapes they had been derived from.

Anybody seen the new Gibson Johnny A model?
The cutaways follow the form just fine, and look just plain stupid!

Yet another thing Rickenbackers have gotten right, imho.
