Geeez, I have bought my new 4003 in 2005 ! (Too early, I see.)
I better saved the money into 2006, I think now. There are sincerly no plans for selling this electrical feature as an official RIC upgrade in the boutique?
Maybe Rickenbacker commes up with small, but usefull detail changes for its anniversary...(Walnut headstock wings on 4003 etc.)

We haven't yet decided about offering the components but the walnut head wings are already standard since sometime last year. Actually, the tail end of 2005 production of 4003 basses also has the electronics upgrade.

Mr.Hall,My bass was ordered in 2005, but still hasnt been produced yet, as far as I know.(4003mg/lh/rh) It was ordered thru Atlanta Discount Music. You know the bass.LOL
If it is produced this yr, which I hope it is, will it have the upgraded electronics, Kenny said last week it would have the walnut wings. If it does have the upgrades, Im A lucky Man. Thanks grendel.

Grendel, the press release says "This additional control is included standard at no additional cost on all 4003 basses beginning in the 2006 model year." I think it's pretty clear you're lucky.

I am a lucky man. Old man luck has thrown me a couple of bones so far this year. I must give thanks to the great bass player in the sky. I'm more excited then one can imagine. Thanks, Mr. Hall and everyone at RIC.

I guess a bass made in Sept. 05 doesn't qualify as "tail end?"
