Hello,

I'm from Paris France, and I just wanted to know why dealers
here in France have no Rickenbaker guitars available in stock.
Some say this is because of french Government positions in
Irak War ? and that Rickenbacker company have stopped sales
in Europe because of this ? Is that true ? I wanted to buy a
Rickenbacker, but none seem to be available in Europe (Germany, belgium, France ...)

Do you have more informations about that situation ?
thank you very much.

Best Regards From France.

I doubt it's anything political. But as you're in the EU as well as us you 'll be able to order from the UK dealers. I would get in touch with Rosetti (UK distributors) to see who has items in stock. My local store, GuitarGuitar.co.uk has a couple of 330s, and I've seen some in Sound Control too, as well as a 620. You may have to pay VAT but there will be no import taxes or duty within the EU.

Rest assured, there is no political agenda influencing our shipments to Europe. As has been commented in several threads on this board, it is hard to get a Rickenbacker anywhere. There is a 6 - 18 month back order for our instruments, which makes it difficult for any dealer to keep our product in stock.

For further help in finding a RIC or a store where you can order one in your area, you may wish to contact our distributor for France:

Algam, Gaffarel Division, 2, rue de Milan 44470 Thouaré, France
Tel. +33 2 40 18 37 30 Fax + 33 2 40 18 37 65
Email : commercial@gaffarel.fr

Hello

I've seen two 360 (JG and MG), a 330 FG, and 620/12 FG (used I guess)
at Guitar and Co, Boulevard Beaumarchais, 11e arondissement, Paris and one old Rick from the sixties.

It was 3 days ago.

Just before Christmas, in Pigalle, I've seen a 380L, a 360 FG Carl Wilson Edition (for 1600 or 1800 Euros, I can't recall exactly, which is cheap) and 620 FG.

Go and get one of them !

All the best

Ben

Seconding Benhelicon: I was in Paris in July 2005, and I found a nice assorted Rickenbacker selection in one of the stores near Pigalle. If my memory serves me well, there were 330, 360, 381 mapleglo, and a solid one I just don't remember now.

And about Europe, apart from UK, in another thread I talked about Dirk Witte in Amsterdam: www.dirkwitte.nl

Any kind of relationship with this shops, of course, but I visited both during 2005 and had some Rickenbacker stock, and I think it's interesting to know. I hope this can help you to find your wanted guitar.
