My main worry is the country I am moving to has very high humidity. I've read on the forums that high humidity is less of a worry than low humidity.
What would people recommend on storage in high humidity and air conditioned houses? I'm not keen on the guitar being in the house without the aircon on and then me coming home and putting the aircon on for 12 hours. The fluctuations can't be good for it but other people must have this situation.

Welcome to the forum. My opinion here is to simply keep it in the case when not in use.
I live in a warm humid climate and never had any issues. When I lived in NY, the issues were that when your heat is turned on, it removes the humidity and a humidifier was needed. Using the air conditioner usually keeps the humidity in check. If memory serves, the ideal humidity for a Rickenbacker is between 50 - 60%. (Please correct me if I am incorrect on this one). What may cause issues is the fluctuation of the house temp and humidity when the Air Conditioner is either engaged or disengaged. You do not mention if you will be living in a tropical or non tropical climate. Another solution would be to leave the air conditioner on and set the thermostat to about 78° Fahrenheit when you are not at home. Goodluck on you relocation and with your Rickenbacker!
