In a way it really is. I had loved ricks since my early teens. (still in my teens) And I have never had the chance to play one in my life. The Closest i have ever been to one has been about a foot. Never knew what a rick was when that happened. I was young and all I about knew about it was that It was expensive (above 2k) and out of my range. So I did not bother. I don't know what it is after all guitars i have played i keep comming back to Rickenbacker. Sometimes it seems fate is calling me.
I mean recently when i have been hanging up the phone the numbers are usually 325!! I don't know if thats just people's limit to talking with me now, maybe. Just the other day it came up again In MATH!.
Well im rambling now but case in short. Hopefully I'll get one someday.

I got my first Rickenbacker at 17. A 1982 JG 620. I bought it on layaway, it took six months to pay off. Back then it cost the same as 4 months rent on my apartment at the time. Your best bet is a used one... Players can be found in the $1000 range. Some less popular models - like 430's or 250s or even a few 650's can be had for less if you keep your eyes open on Craigslist or Ebay... What you won't find in that range is a brand new vintage series model. But cool and playable RICS can be found if you look...

Remstar. Not that I'm aware of! The 350v63 was never offered in sea green straight from the factory! In answer to your original post, I really wish you luck and hope you find a Ric I'm not sure where you live, but if your in the US you should be fine. It's worth taking the time to save and use the search in models at the top of this page. Get to know what are the differences in each model. If your going to buy 2nd hand get a good one, get some extra bucks saved so you really get something good! You have waited this long ,,,so make it worth the wait. Choose carefully the instrument you do eventually purchase, set it up well, and then plug it into a good amp and you will know what you've been missing!
Don't think of anything but a Real Rickenbacker with Ric pickups! Good luck!

Sea Green was a color of the year ("COY" or "COTY"); if someone ordered a 350 in SG the year SG was available, then RIC built one.
