I'm about to go to Singapore and I'm taking my '94 Rick' 330/12. I want to know which case is batter to transport it.
I have seen a lot of research as to what each case is/does. But still trying to figure out what is best for my guitar. Anvil cases are super heavy and I think a little iffy, b/c the wood used is not very thick. SKB is usually the best bet but the only case that fits the body size is a case for a bow and arrow (essentially isn't for a guitar).
Has anyone seen/used the Gator cases and if so are they comparable to the SKB? Please help!!

I suggest searching out a thread on a guy's 620 - He was asking about shipping it, what case to use, etc. I looked - Couldn't find it, but I happen to not notice things at first glance sometimes (A side-effect of an eye disorder I have).

Your original RIC case wrapped in bubble wrap inside a custom-made wood crate will withstand just about anything, with 3 layers of protection, provided it fits the limits of what your carrier/airline will accept, and will probably cost no more than a commercial-brand.

One of my favorite spectator sports is watching the luggage guys toss the bags out of the plane onto to the conveyor at LAX when I fly there twice a year. My gear always goes via USPS ground shipping.
