I was looking at a recent photo that Bass North West took of a 4003FL Amber Fireglo that they recently recieved a few days ago, I checked it out and the color looks alot like Fireglo instead so I brought up another picture of a 4003 Fireglo that they had a picture of in there already sold list thay they also took and both colors look exactly alike to me. What do you think.

I'm wandering if Bass North West just got in a 4003FL Fireglo and they thought it was a Amber Firglo, I'm not sure but the colors look really close to me.

I see what you mean. On the computer, they both look the same color. But it looks to me like the one that says it's AFG really could be. However, it's hard to distinguish between the two on the computer sometimes, given the resolution of the digital camera which took the picture. They do look really close.

This was one of the first AFG models we made so it likely has less amber in it than current AFG's. We decided a few months back to add more amber to the finish because it wasn't different enough.

Yeah, I kinda guessed it had to be an early one, if AFG at all, since it had the push-pull but no walnut headstock wings.

Almost exactly what mine's gonna be though... makin' me twitchy waitin' for it!

i just received my 660/12AFG a couple days ago...after wiping the drool off the finish, i find that it's very close to fireglow, just a subtle hint of amber...all in all a very beautiful instrument that will make me pleased for a long time...got lucky, i think this is the one displayed at the namm show... im just happy as a clam now, playing it thru my ac15ccix w/the blue celestions..just waiting for the compressor to arrive

rockettj, open up your guitar and tell us if it says NAMM on the inside. I had a breathtaking 370/12MG that had a sticker inside that said NAMM next to the rest of the info.

The only 660/12 afg that has been shipped was shipped to the rickenbacker page. As of yesterday and according to their web site it was not mark sold. They do have a lefty mark sold. Its hard to beleive that the afg's are going out the door this quick, I bet it is a Namm guitar and if it is you have something special. I have a friend who owns a BC rich mocking bird from the atlanta '79 namm show. He has been offered a lot of money for that guitar. It was hand made by Mr. Rico himself. It does have 79 namm stamped on the headstock.
