I bought a Ric and it was on the truck for delivery, Friday, 6AM, 10 miles from my house. It never showed. Late Friday, UPS changed the delivery date to Monday. Monday is done. No Ric. No updated delivery date. What they call customer service says, 'ask the shipper to start an investigation'. Great.

Real bummer. But you should do what they say, and in a timely manner. The seller/shipper should be notified ASAP. Be sure to document EVERYTHING. UPS has a questionable rep when it comes to paying out even if the item was fully insured. I really hope this works out for you.
Here's my only negative experience with UPS, regarding delivery of an inexpensive guitar from Rondo:
A few years ago I was at home checking the status of the delivery to my house every 15 minutes or so, since I knew that UPS usually delivered in my neighborhood around 6 pm. I checked around 6 pm and saw that it was deliered minutes before. That seemed strange, as I didn't hear the truck and no one rang the door bell as is customary. It was winter and dark. I went outside and checked, double checked, including in the bushes near the front door. I called UPS customer service and got the exact advice you received. I said that I had been tracking it on the computer and saw that it was just delivered! It was like talking to a robot-- same response. I was really getting pissed hearing the same unhelpful, weasle-like reply each time I said something. So I told the lady that I thought that the driver put it in the trunk of his car, and I told her that I was going to report the theft to the police. (Oddly, it never dawned on me that it could have been delivered to the wrong house.... But I could not think of any other explanation at the time.) So I called the police department and asked if I could file a stolen goods report (I thought I would eventually need a police report to validate my loss/reimbursement), and they said OK. So I drove the short distance to the police station and explained the events. The police woman took notes, then tried calling UPS and got the same line/"advice" that I did; UPS doesn't care who you are. Then she somehow got Rondo's phone number and gave it to me to call later. So, I went back home, and there on front porch was my guitar. I have no idea who delivered it. It could have been the honest, neighborly recipient, or it could have been the UPS guy backtracking posthaste to the misdelivery location and re-delivering it to me. I called the police station and reported that all was well. (All's well that ends well.)

It will probably show! Are you sure you don't have to collect it from your Post office? Maybe give it another day or so. But hope it all works out.

I was tracking a Rick I had bought from a RRF forum member. It was supposed to be a 2 day delivery. As I watched it's progress, it's updates suddenly stopped, then disappeared. I called UPS and had to have the guy I bought it from open a case after they told me they lost it. Then after a day of agita, they suddenly found it the following day. So I got it in 3 days. Never got a discount off the shipping or a real apology, but I was happy enough that it was found and a beautiful COY Blueburst 4004Cii was mine. I hope you situation turns out no worse than mine did, Greg!

Rickenbrother. I once had a quite similar experience. I was waiting for a FedEx delivery international of an amazing guitar, it made it to all the way to Australia and was tracking fast. However after Brisbane airport it went into transit, and that is when all tracking just ceased! Normally FedEx will deliver to your door, but apparently they use a contract service to deliver to my rather remote location.
After I realised it was going nowhere for 3- 4 days ..... I'm made many enquires and found out it was bogged down in a warehouse in Brisbane ( so it would be almost impossible to locate it to check for me. I was expecting it would be delivered to my door,,,,, 1 day later I went to the Local post office and the post mistress said ''Jbud'' ( They do not refer to me as that) There's a big delivery for you! Well! As I complained the contact delivery service just posted it! It ended up going into Aust post ( no tracking) in the very last part of it's journey!
Funny thing as I was so surprised that it showed up at the post office and also the box it was in looked a bit dishevelled, Now as they know me so well in a small country town, they encouraged me to open it right there and then. The box was so weak it was easily ripped with my hands, and they all stood back and witnessed me slowly open the case to reveal a brand new 381/6 in Midnight Blue! We all were so impressed with that guitar!
Despite the box being very weak the guitar and case were somehow perfect. It was a Joy and a tremendous relief. I'm really hoping GregC's shows!

I was going to ship my unknown model off for repairs and just couldn't do it. I will have to drive several hours to get her neck fixed and have her polished on a polish wheel, no new finish, but I will stay there with her during her hospital stay. Ricky 1957 Combo ,(almost 850), no horseshoe, single toaster,(between neck and bridge), small pick guard, trapeze tailpiece. Still haven't found another like her. I hope you find yours.

Was it in tune straight out of the box?? Horses always go fast when they are on the home stretch, Rickenbacker's take their time. I thought this one would show.......But where was it during that missing day ???????????????
