I use the top boost with bass at 10 treble at 2 and run it thru a Jungle Blox compressor very Beatles sounding. |

Howdy, Hessodreamy, if you've excessive treble with your new 330/AC-15 rig, roll off the 330's treble knob(s). One of the best thing about Rickenbacker guitars is that they seem to get along with every amp I've owned! I'm employing a reasonably similar amp with my 360 these days- A Dr.Z Carmen Ghia (18 watts, fired by a pair of EL84s) and it too, is somewhat trebly. I simply dial down my neck treble knob and all is well. Enjoy your 330! |

Yeah, I do find that the tone knobs on a rick have a lot of room to move before they sound muddy. How much are people using their tone knobs for general playing? eg for a jangly trebly sound are you still rolling the tone knob back a bit? Sometimes I waver between blending the neck pickup in and rolling the bridge pickup tone off. Which way to go....? |

I don't use my tone knobs much on any guitar, but I never have trouble with highs, either. |

Tonight, I adjusted my Hot Rod Deluxe's bias, and found some interesting results that may aid you. I had it set to a hotter setting, which most players seem to prefer. However, when I pumped it down a lot cooler, let's say ten o'clock, I got mellower results. When I finally plugged in my 620/12, it sounds much better and balanced than before. Even the amp's drive channels were considerably better. So, do try to experiment with both bias and different tubes, because it can make a world of difference. |

Leave all of your guitar knobs full on, use the tone cut completely anti-clockwise to cut out the highs (it will still be plenty bright, trust me), and as you're facing the front of the amp looking back, set the bass between the 6 and 8 o'clock positions, and the treble between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions. Adjust volume to taste/room size. ![]() |

Seems that anything is ear-splitting.BlueRick wrote: as you're facing the front of the amp looking back, set the bass between the 6 and 8 o'clock positions, and the treble between the 4 and 5 o'clock positions. This basically says bass all the way down, and treble all the way up, at least on the current model. Is that what you meant or should I be looking at it upside down? ![]() |

From my experience, and hearing my local tech complaints, you shouldn't play with the bass up too much. It sounds good, but can be bad for the amp in loud situations. Again, this is just from my end. You don't want to forgo your Mids, though... |
