I just bought my son a Fender Super-Champ X2 about a month ago--great little amp you might consider. It's small and lightweight. But unlike Champs from the 60s or 60s which were 5 or 6 watts, this one is 15 watts. Also, it has a 10" speaker instead of the little 8" that they used to have. I guess it depends on what you're going to use it for. But one of the salesmen at the local guitar shop I go to said he can't keep them in stock--they pretty much get sold the day they arrive.

I am lucky enough to have several of the amps mentioned in a lot of these posts and some that have not been. the Roland is a great choice for my RIC 360/12 but then so is my reissue '65 twin Reverb. I also have a Deluxe Reverb and while it sounds great, it will loose some of its clean at stage volume (which BTW is exactly what I want it to do for my other guitars) But I prefer the extra grunt of double push pull output section (4 power tubes) because you just can't beat the headroom it gives you for that clean sound. I also have a Roland jc55 which is a great little amp but the emphasis is on little. The big guns get my vote and my bad back, but heck, I'll sit in a chair if I have to , to get "that" tone!!! And I'm over 60 years old, stop being a bunch of wimps, pickup that heavy beast (twin=70lbs + with JBL d120s) and get that tone!!!

Have had both Brits and Fenders (60's) But I've Been Getting a pretty sweet sound out of a Egnater Rebel 30, pretty sweet tone there as well...

I have a Vibrochamp XD, which is really, really cool. Changing the power tube can really help open things up, too.

I should also mention that both my Vox AC15 and my Music Man 212HD get great sounds with my 330/12, but of course have different sounds. The Music Man is great for headroom--if I remember correctly, it's rated at 130 watts. But I can't ever remember turning it to full power. In fact, I turn it on half power and never get higher than 3 on the volume knob--it's that powerful. The only downside to the Music Man is that it's staggeringly heavy. That's one reason I bought the Vox--I was tired of lugging the Music Man around, even though it gets a really great sound! (The Vox, of course, sounds great too--all that chime!)
