Now I don't know what color to get my 330 in... Maple or Fire... Thanks! I wasn't even quite sure I was in the market for a 370/12 MG when I saw this one (I already had a 370/12 JG), but the striking quality of the woodgrain just sold me on it and "told" me I'd be sorry if I passed it up... In hindsight, very glad I jumped on it after all - pretty sure I'd not have found another with comparable wood... Good luck with your choice! Personally, I think exceptional woodgrain shows better on MG than on FG - but for less exceptional (less distinctive, more "average") woodgrain, it's more of a toss-up between the two, with your choice better determined by your general preference for either the "clean golden" look of MG or a the "'burst" look of FG...

Well, if I'm ordering it from Musicians Friend (Since we don't have Ric dealers in this part of Georgia), it's risky to go the MG route expecting cooler grain; I normally don't like natural finishes, especially compared to a beautiful fireglo. I'm hold my Tobacco Sunburst Jaguar as I post this, and even with a darker clear finish, it's easy to see shapes in the grain. From pictures online, I can see some interesting character in Fireglo models, but if it were a toss up between a MG with more normal looking wood versus an average Fireglo, I'd go with FG.
