Ok, so most will argue (including myself) that we love Rics because of their unique design - things of beauty, expertly crafted instruments - simply perfect. But for the sake of some fun, lets say, you have been tasked with creating a 'NEW' model by Mr Hall entirely from your own desires - can be base don an existing or something radical - let your imagination run wild

Yes I know its probably 'wrong' but here goes:

Mine is based on the 600 series body shape, but ever so slightly larger semi body with the slash sound hole

Definitely figured, probably nice Birdseye maple like my old Tom Petty was, with chequered binding (naturally), would be a 12, with two toasters, 660 neck profile with chequer bound headstock, full width crushed pearl fret markers

Would go with the 'R' tailpiece as its so iconic, but white pick guard and TRC as my colour would be.... FireGlo but going to a deeper almost burgundy red.

Could call it the 680/12 BurgundyGlo

Can I place my custom order now Mr Hall ? :D   :D

whose next?

Three pickup 620 (Which would be a 630? *Shrugs*) with a humbucker as the neck pickup.

I have two fantasy Rickenbacker bass guitars in mind.
One would be a bass version of the 381 guitar, I would even go for a 330 version of a bass guitar.
The other would be a 4001V63 built like a 4004. 4001V63 body, but no pickguard, controls mounted through the back like the 4004, but with three pickups. Two of the pickups would be positioned just as they are now on the 4004 and the third pickup would go right before the bridge, like on the 4004LK.

1. The working parts of a 650 with the cosmetics of a 620. Call it a 640?

a) Humbuckers
b) Wider neck
c) Hard tailpiece
d) Binding!
e) White pickguard + TRC
f) Rosewood fretboard

2. A 360 bouzouki/octave mandolin:
- Four double-strung courses tuned like a cello.
- The nut and bridge would be fairly straightforward to get, but the headstock would require major surgery.

3. Bass with a 330 body. I know, I know, when hell freezes over :P

I want a neck through 430, built like a 620... But with R tail, toasters and vintage tuners. That would be my custom shop RIC...

As to reissues, one day a 330 c58 Capri with the thicker body...

If my 1981 360-12WB FG ckbd had:
1.72 nut
fanned frets starting with a square nut and 24 5/8 to 24 7/8 compound scale
