I have an Electro ES-16 tulip design. The unusual aspect of the guitar is the truss rod cover that has a metal plate attached to the plastic cover. I know it's not a Rickenbacker, but can someone let me know if there is a guide to tell the month and year it was made? I know Rickenbacker has a chart, but can't find an Electro chart. Thanks!

The Electro and Rickenbacker serial number is the same, at least from 1960 and beyond. The decoder will work fine for these.

Look on the bridge plate for the serial number. I've seen a couple of examples of Electros like yours.

This was answered over at the RRF. He has CC 380 from March 63 - a tulip shaped Electro ES16 in Fireglo.
