I haven't visited this forum very often in the last couple years. Anything new? Any notable modifications to the guitars or basses? New colors or special models etc? I used to keep up with this stuff but life has been keeping me busy. I noticed a certain big guitar store has had a lot of nice looking Rickenbackers hanging from their wall lately. That's been nice to see. They hang them high, too.

There was a limited issue 4001S for GC and the new W series.

Oh sweet. The Walnut looks classy. I'm still waiting for my Granny Smith Appleglo, though.

In addition to those GC special models and the beautiful "W" series; They also "re-introduced" Ruby as a standard color about two years ago. There was a special run of Snow Glo White Ric basses (both 4003 and 4004's). And Caribbean Rosewood became the new fret board material in 2011-12 replacing the Bubbinga that had been standard for years. The old style Conversion Varnish was replaced by the new quick drying, environmentally-friendly poly-something finish for the top-coats, also around the 2011-12 timeframe. The Compressed Round Wound strings are now just Round Wounds. The 4003 basses have had the push-pull knob for the Bridge pickup tone capacitor cut, since around 2009. Several special models/series have also been released to specific Ric dealers in the UK, Japan and Germany the last two years. Fire Engine Red Double Bounds for Germany; Several unique colors and models for Japan and re-issued F-Hole models for the UK distributor.
Lots of interesting things have been happening to keep Ric enthusiasts intrigued.....
