Hi, everyone I know a trustworthy person who is selling a new or unused Ric 360 that has been in a climate controlled setting for at least five years.
Does anyone know if this is still a safe guitar to buy? In addition to questions about the condition of the neck, etc, are there any other questions that I should ask?
Thank you, Karl

The simple answer, is "play the damn thing first!".
The world is full of second hand (this is what it is, despite the guff about "climate controlled" (and who's word are you taking for it, if you cant get to the premises to see they are, and that it was) Rickenbackers.
A guitar $200 cheaper than market, thats unplayable, is not a bargain. Same way as your favourite colour, year and spec is a bargain, if its the only one out there, and its $500 more than you expected to pay.

Here is the update: I decided to buy the guitar (a Rickenbacker 360 Amber Fireglo) because I had bought a Roger McGuinn Limited Edition 370-12 from the same person almost 20 years ago. I will mention his name and, if I'm NOT allowed to, I believe that someone on the Forum will "take it off." He is Mike Parks. I always loved the color of the Amber Fireglo and I wished that I had placed an order some seven years ago when it was the "Color of the Year." So, when I saw that he had a "new" one(unsold), I decided to take a chance on it.He gives a 72 hour "window" to send it back. After it arrived, I immediately went to my luthier for his opinion. The luthier said it was "perfect." I have brought it out to play and many have commented on its beauty!!! So, knock on wood, so far so good!!!!

Congratulations, I was also looking at it ! I had the same great experience buying two Rics from him these past years, last one was a NOS 360 BBR and it came in perfect, my go to now. Enjoy!

I hope they don't go bad sitting in the case in my temperature and humidity controlled closet! I've still got three that haven't been played. I checked on them a couple of times a year. They always look just like they did the last time.
I have an Amber Fireglo 360/12 with Vintage Pick-ups and a Fireglo 330 that are played regularly. Always good fun!
