Upfront, I realize I'm dealing with minutiae here, but I'm curious nonetheless. I only noticed this when I started assessing hardware that needs replacing on my new-to-me '83 4003.
Partly because the '83 is missing one mute knob/screw and I know it's the same part as the strap button, I decided to order the newer straplocks and move one of the old straplocks to the mute. I see that there are nylon washers under the strap buttons.
The straplocks on my brand-new 2015 4003 don't have nylon washers underneath them.
Which makes me wonder 1) did a problem arise with having nylon washers under the strap buttons, and so they were removed from production instruments (meaning, don't put them back on the '83), or 2) were they forgotten on my '15 4003 (meaning, put them on)? Or was there another reason why one would have them and the other not?
Like I say, not a big deal either way, and probably not even worth writing a post about it, but an answer will stop my head from wondering.

We don't use these anymore- haven't for years. But I'm not aware of any problems from having them.

Nylon? I put felt washers on my 360/12. I noticed the paint was checking right where the strap button was. Maybe the strap button was screwed down too tight? No bother. I bought some black felt washers and installed them. All better now.
