I don't understand the recent decision to drop Ruby as a color for Rickenbackers. Such a great color, and easily my favorite! It would be easier to bear if they decided to rotate colors on a regular basis, which would at least give some hope. I always thought Ruby was such a classic Rick color!

It seems like demand for certain colors comes and goes. Besides the original three finishes(FG,MG,JG), only midnight blue has managed to survive.

As one of the lucky ones who got a hold of a Ruby (360/6) when they were just laying around at my local retailer, I have to say it's kind of fun to all of the sudden be a little bit "cool" with a no-longer-available color. It's not exactly a greenglo 375F, but it's somethin'!

It was a combination of only moderate demand and the difficulty producing this color. Our plan this year is to produce significantly more instruments and bring the backlog to a manageable level; eliminating such a difficult color will help us to achieve this goal.

I would have loved to have one but I already have a Jetglo 360 and a Fireglo 360-12. It's hard to have one of everything.

Once the backlog is at a manageable level, is there a chance of Santa Ana Blue becoming a regular issue?

You've painted up your lips and rolled and curled your tinted hair;
Ruby, are you contemplating goin' out somewhere?
The shadows on the wall tell me the sun is goin' down;
Oh Ruby- don't take your love to town!

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday
Who could hang a name on you?
When you change with every new day
Still I'm gonna miss you . . .

Echoes of reggae comin' through my bedroom wall
havin' a party up next door but i'm sittin here all alone
two lovers in the bedroom and the other starts to shout
all i got is this blank stare and that don't carry no clout at all

[Chorus]
Destination unknown
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
[x2]

He's singin and she's there to lend a hand
he's seen his name on the marquee but she will never understand
once again he's leavin' and she's there with a tear in her eye
embraces with a warm gesture it's time, time to say goodbye

[Chorus]

Ruby's heart ain't beatin cause she knows the feelin' is gone
she's not the only one who knew there's somethin' wrong
her lover's in the distance as she wipes a tear from her eye
ruby's fading out, she disappears, it's time, time to say goodbye

[Chorus]

Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho

Destination unknown (Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho)
Ruby ruby ruby ruby soho
[x2]
