I checked out that 355v63 on Reverb from Japan and they just have the model number wrong. That is a model 1996!

The pickup spacing is far too wide for a model 1996.

Never noticed the Pick-up spacing - good eye!

Well, because of this thread I got interested in the guitar in question, and after hesitating to buy it because it is from Japan, I pulled the trigger on it today.
I always liked this model, but did not want a short scale neck. I also always liked the 1- o'clock "F" hole to the more slanted 2-o'clock one. Well this one has both of what I want, so I bought it. Now I just hope that everything goes smooth with shipping, and the guitar is in good shape when it arrives. I'll keep you guys posted :!:

Received my Ric 355v63 from Japan today. I want to thank Docmarino for starting this thread and finding this guitar, (one I did not know existed), and tweaking my interest.
I always liked the 1996 model, but did not want a short scale neck. Well this is that guitar, WITH a long scale neck (and "F"sound hole). Never saw one before, but they made a limited run for the Japanese market (confirmed by Ms. Hall) and now it's mine! Even has the certificate confirming the 355v63 model number  .
For a 23 year old guitar it is in almost perfect condition with no issues and a perfectly straight neck. Couldn't be happier and she's a true "rare find". ;)

Not too savvy on posting photo's, the best I can do is tell you to google Rickenbacker 355v63 and the pics from the place in Japan has very good photos of it!

Is there any way to read the site in english?

There should be a translate tab on the front of the site.

I have been a Ric fan for a VERY long time, and a fan of the Rose Morris models (with "F" hole), and this is the only 355v63 I have EVER come across. It being 23 years old and in such excellent condition, I truly got lucky on a rare find. I was very hesitant to purchase a guitar from Japan, but I rolled the dice and it payed off "THIS" time! :o .
Great guitar, there are a few short scales out there, but good luck trying to find this style with the "F" hole AND the long scale neck!!!
