Mostly because of the sound, it's not a good presentation of a great guitar.

The fret board markers a sort of laid back version of the Ibanez sharktooth? Excuse me good people, I feel the need to purge my stomach contents. This video is unreal. The presenter pointed out the maple neck, but failed to mention the walnut lamination. Perhaps an honest oversight, but there are also references to an "R" bridge and rosewood nut.

And the unbelievably stupid explanation of the tone and volume functions and the output jacks will undoubtedly result in many more posts from confused Rickenbacker owners.

finally we can understand the meaning behind mapleglo
yep, this one is.. a.. maple glooow, that means its a tranparent finish and its maple!
rosewood nut, R style bridge, an unorthodox knob arrangement, which becomes confusing when he has to think about what pickup the treble knobs control, plus a mystery 5th knob which controls the "whooomph",
not to mention tone worse than that of my arse. what the hell does he have his amp set to?

i hope this doesnt scare people away from a rickenbacker. this is poor advertising.

Shocking presentation..

But the sound he makes is truly dreadful..

Not a good demo or advertisment ( not that it was meant to be...or was it ?..I dunno )

I was looking around You Tube for clips on folks playing Rickenbackers...and he came out pretty much top of the search..

Perhaps someone knows this guy and can show him how to get a more faithful representaion of the Rickenbacker sound out of the guitar/amp..and replace his current You Tube video with something which does Rickenbacker more justice.

I particularly enjoyed the high-tech gobbledygook about the "band-pass filters". You buy 'em books, send 'em to school and they eat the books! If he ever figures out how the pan pot works, we're in for a real techno-treat! -Dr.Phil

You know...I never thought I was a very good guitarist, and even less at understanding the technology that goes into them and the associated equipment. I'm feeling pretty good about myself after watching this!
