Yup, sold for $4552...
I'm a bit surprised it went for less than $6k !!!
Are you guys talking about the three-piece neck bass? I hope it means RIC is at least toying with bringing that kind of neck construction back... but it's cool that they at least did one like that, regardless.

I gotta put forth a bit of a complaint here. Your company doesn't seem to want to make money.you lost $2000 of my money because of your waiting list. I walked out with something else. Your Guitars and basses don't receive the exposure that they should. That is bad business. There's no arguing quality as a rick is my dream bass, but imagine how many people like myself who want the rick sound and walked out because of lack of instruments. And off the internet? I don't think so.I like to see the pride of the dealer as he or she hands you your new baby. So if you lost what you would have made from me, imagine how much you lose worldwide.I run a business myself in ottawa and the prices for non vintage gear I no doubt believe you don't see a cent of. Doesn't make sense to me, gibson, fender, martin, ibanez, and many others see more exposure in magazines than you. And there's none in the guitar shops. Explain it to me. Maybe more profit would allow you to make more instruments and not waste time hunting down copies. And quality? PRS, gibson, fender, martin, ibanez make quality guitars and basses and I'd love to know how much you lose to these companies. You almost never see musicians carrying ricks (she should be). So explain it to me? Seems like bad business.

care to trade paychecks with Mr. Hall???....then complain about bad business ;) for every one person with no patience that complains about a waiting list, there are HUNDREDS of people with a Rickenbacker on order that absolutely understand why there is a wait in the first place. besides,if you really wanted your dream bass that badly you would have hopped online and found a dealer that has one in stock.

Cry me a river, ferox.
Tell me, do you have to pay extra to get your cola drinks served to you in the baby bottle?

Well, considering Martin is an acoustic guitar company and Ric makes Electric Guitars and Basses, I'd say they're losing nothing to them since they're not even in the same product market.
Secondly, talk to anyone who is a serious fan of Gibson and they will tell you that the company hasen't produced anything synonmous with 'quality' in several years, most fans of the Les Paul and other Gibson Guitars like the ES-335, Explorer, or SG are cherishing instruments more than a few decades old. Oh, and I own a 2008 Gibson SG.
Ibanez? lol. They're nice guitars but we're talking about a budget distributer in Japan, and this is coming from someone who owns and plays an Ibanez acoustic.
Your only real valid arguement is with Fender because thier P-Bass was and still is incredibly popular, and the Telecaster and Stratocaster are some of the most iconic guitars ever created.
Regardless, I could point out a large demographic of musicians who currently play Ric Guitars or Basses, you're just basing it on your own narrow-mindness and impatience. I waited 5 years to find my Ric. It's not a company that needs defending, wether a musician plays one or not, people who think 'Rickenbacker' think 'Quality'.
