Hey guys. I finally bought my 1st Rickenbacker. I chose the 360 Mapleglo 6-string. Luckily, my local dealer had one in stock. It hung on the wall since Aug 07, so I saved it. It sure is different than any other guitar I've played but the new Strat Deluxe will have to wait for now. The action is extremely low & makes it hard to bend strings especially toward the nut. But I realize that Rics aren't really ideal for blues as for jazzy chord work & melodic runs. My high-E was weak so I tweaked the bridge, pickups, & pole pieces tonight & it sounds a bit better. Boy, the neck pickup tone is the best I've ever heard! Here's a few of the best posts I've made on other forums if you're interested.

I'm very glad to be here with you guys & yield to your knowledge & experience. I can however jump in with assistance with most things besides Rickenbacker guitars. I pride myself in being friendly & overly helpful. I've already been busy familiarizing myself with the forum by reading as many threads as possible before posting myself. I wish the forum allowed code so you wouldn't need to Copy/Paste the links above. Anyway, I sincerly hope you enjoy them. Rics rock! :)

Huh?! Not good for jazz? Remember why JL bought one in the first place: John had seen guitarist Jean "Toots" Thielemans, in George Shearing«s Quintet, playing a Rickenbacker in 1959.

I even used my 320 in jazz band in college, through a silver faced Fender Vibrolux. I have some audience recordings of how good it sounded.

Try 11's, whether rounds or flats, to get a gutsier tone out of your 360, and if you want to go that far, you can consider the push-pull so you can have or have not the "vintage" bridge cap at will.

Glad you're enjoying it.
