Highgains with adjustable pole pieces?!?! What a GREAT IDEA! Thanks,Mr.Hall! Now we'll have to go back to bitching about Tailpiece lift on 4003's...or the self-destruct mechanism in "R" tailpieces on 12 strings...(>_<)...just kidding...I love my RICs...

A bit of compression solves all these problems. Even a cheapo compressor like the Behringer works wonders for live string balance... especially on my 360/12. When I record I go straight in through a tube preamp and then compress with software (Sony SoundForge Wavehammer) and it works beautifully. Plus I don't have to mess around with pickup pole heights.

I tried a stomp box compressor with my 330 and I really liked the results. It brought the attack of the G string down and gave the high E a respectable position amongst it's 5 other buddies. I'm sold. Jay

Yep, I got the exact same results as you with my Aphex compressor. Two knobs (can't get much simpler) and it works great.
