Post subject:  Toaster cover on old hi gains

Hi everyone. I'm currently in the process of giving my 330/12 a more vintage look. I've replaced the R tailpiece with the trapeze and I've also swapped out the knobs. Next is the pickups. I'm going to replace the bridge pickup with a new toaster, but I was thinking about just putting a toaster cover on the neck pickup since I don't really use it all that much.

My question: I have the older style hi gain pickup where the pole pieces do NOT un screw. They're stuck in there for good. Is there a way to safely remove those so I can put the toast cover on it? I don't want to mangle the pickup to the point where it doesn't work anymore. Can this be done?

Thanks for your help,
-Richie

You'll mangle it. Either sell it or swap it with someone for one with removeable ploe pieces.
