I have a 2008-4003 Midnight Blue and a 2009-4001 C64 in Fireglow, as well as Fender Custom Shop and Gibson Custom Shop basses. I use Ampeg SVT's with a custom pedal board and effects from Electro Harmonix and MXR Bass Innovations.

Ricks make "exceptional noise" when engaging the Micro POG from EHX. It's a polyphonic octave generator. It's more prevalent with the 4003 (maybe because of the high gain pick ups. I do "NOT" have this problem with my other basses.

I will not incorporate a noise gate onto the pedal board as they suck up your tone period. I would like to know if anyone has had similar problems using the EHX POG or POG2 with Rickenbackers. The issue here is not "single coil to humbuckers"

My effects chain lineup is listed here. I have the most amazing sound otherwise and when using the combination of the fuzz, chorus, Micro POG and analog delay as swelled in by my volume pedal it sounds like John Lord at St. Patricks Cathedral.

I have linked a "live in the studio video" with the 4001 C64 and effects as used.
