I have georgeous 1995 370/12WB FG, that is cherished and loved (perhaps too much for an inanimate object ) Unfortunately, as happens with these things sometimes, she has sadly developed a lift at the neck/body join so the action is maing it now difficult to play (especially when compared to my equally lovely 660/12 AFG ).

She deserves to be treated right, and with expert care and attention as I would like to put this right so that she can compete with her siblings in the playabilty stakes.

So, to business. Does anyone know who best to do this in the UK, as she is precious and in an ideal world would prefer any major works to be carried out by official Rickenbacker experts/restorers. Easy in the US as I could send it to Mr Hall's finest craftsmen for some love, but over here?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Bet I can guess what brand strings were used on this one.

My UK recommendation is the same as always: Dan MacPherson dan@macphersonguitars.com. He's down in the south but that's a bit closer than the USA.

Mr Hall, at the moment she is strung up with your finest strings, but this was not the case when aquired. Current tuned a semi tone down to ease things a little.

Would it be 'wrong' to get Dan to redo with chequered binding and full width crushed pearl fret markers?

Just curious... does this mean the action is too low in the upper frets, or what's going on? I thought the strings would bow it the other direction.

I just had the pleasure of helping a guitarist set up his 330/12 and I was really impressed with the factory neck angle. It was perfect for even action across the register. This was a 2011 model.

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant was, the string tension has pulled the neck up, meaning the action is way too high. As I understand it Ric necks are set parallel to the the top of the body and the actions on my 660/12 and 660/6 are so perfect, they are jsut so easy to play, it makes my poor old 370/12WB embarrassed

Managed to get in touch with dan, not going to be cheap, but think it will be worth the effort to get her back to her rightful glory
