I have a 1969 model 360 6 string Ric (same model that Ric presented to George Harrison only mine is a 6 string). I want to buy a Schubb capo for use with it, but ran into a question. They make two versions of the capo I'm interested in. One to fit a 9 1/2 inch radius neck and one to fit a 7 1/4 radius neck. Anyone out there know the radius used on Ric necks during 1969?

Schubb capos are pretty much a "one size fits all" device except for special cases. 12-string acoustics being one of them. They do make a 6 and a 12 string version of this capo, but the 6 string version will fit a Ric 12 just fine.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm a little confused. My Ric looks exactly like the RIC that I use for my "icon" in the forum. However, mine is a 6 string model, not a 12. Shubb says that there 7 1/4 inch radius capo is designed for some early model Telecasters and a few other manufacturers (they do not name specifically) that make small radius necks. The 9 1/2 inch radius is designed for everything else. Even though the neck on my Ric feels small compared to other guitar necks such as a Strat or Les Paul, my guess would be that the 9 1/2 inch model is still probably the one I need. The reason I'm trying to get this right is that I have tried several capos (none of them Shubb) that don't seem to fit quite right. I'll usually have one string (the high or low E) that doesn't make clean contact with the capo or I have to put so much tension on the capo that when I take it off, I have to retune. I like the design of the Shubb and have used it on other guitars which is why I want to order theirs. Unfortunately none of the musical dealers in my area carry Shubb or I would just carry my Ric in and settle the issue with a little hands-on experimentation. So, before I place my order with Guitar Center on-line, I would like to be pretty sure I'm ordering what's appropriate.

Not being that great at identifying guitar models, yours is a 300 series guitar, and from the Models menu above the specs for all 300 series guitars says it is a 10" radius.

We have a winner!!! Case is closed, stick a fork in it and call it done. Thanks so much for the tech spec on the neck radius. To quote James Cagney from a character he played in one of his movies, "My mother thanks you, my father thanks you and most of all, I thank you".

Hi I know it's been a while since You ask Your question.
But I ran across Your post researching the same info. The specs do say the 360 model has a ten inch radius but in the description it also says "Subtly updated through the years," ,I'm waiting for a reply from service dept where I ask if older models are the same.
But I kept searching and found this site: pittmanguitarrepair.com/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=3573E396-D610-A6A8-604C2CA470F23C06&dv=recent - 12k

it's a description of a bridge repair of a 1967 360/12 and it states the radius was set at 7.25" , and the current radius is the same for both the six and twelve string guitars. I'll repost the response from the service dept when I get it.

The specs for the 360/12C63, a recreation of a mid-sixties 360/12, list the crown radius at 7 1/4".

Mr. Bowers! Would this be the Billy Bowers who used to play with Mr. Seligman? I'm the guy from Grace Place ... send me a note if you get this!
