Hi all

What kind of distance should there be between the top e string and the edge of the fingerboard? Its pretty close on my new 360, but still playable. As this is my first Ric, I was wondering if they are usually close or not......

I'm not sure if If there is a measurable standard distance between string and fret board edge on all Ric's. However I do perfectly understand your query. A new guitar with a different neck can take some time to adjust to. Just keep playing that guitar exclusively for a few weeks and that will help. Your Left hand should adapt.

Try letting your left hand relax and drop slightly at the wrist, notice your fingers come toward the fret board naturally ( use this relaxed position rather that squeezing) to apply your finger to the fretboard. This should allow you better finger placement with less force and more precision. It would be better to know what your specifically having a problem with, are you pushing the string off the edge of the Fretboard????

Rick action can be as low as you want it because of the double-truss rod system. Conventional electric guitars with only one truss rod require a bit of bow in the neck, making the strings seem further away from the neck, especially toward the middle of the neck.

Rickissippi, I'm not sure but I think this question may relate to width ( string spacing) on the neck, But I'm not positive!

I just cannot imagine a problem with low action, well rarely!
