Hi.. I am new here, but have lurked suspiciously on occasion throughout the years...
My problem is.. I have a 330x12, its a 2004 model. I have played 330's all my adult life, always loved the look and sound but never got along with the neck pickup so I decided to meddle with it and added a 1950s mullard u47 vintage cap to the bridge pickup and this tinned things up nicely but it became only 3/4 the volume of the neck pickup.so..
I added a 500k alpha tone pot to the neck pickup and this has evened out the volume
but now the neck pickup is brighter and nastier sounding than the bridge and turning the blend control in the bridge pickup direction the bridge pickup gets warmer sounding. I have followed the wiring correctly what has happened..
I use a vintage 1950s british amp which is very dark sounding so have needed to make these corrections.. Greetings to you all
