Hi, everyone!
Has anyone that has an Amber Fireglo finish on their guitar or bass had any problems with it? Over the years, my AFG 620 has become more and more sticky, to the point that it is now unplayable. Recently, I found a description of an AFG 330 that seems to have the same problems that mine does, so I was wondering if anyone else has had this show up.
Here's a link to the 330. Note the description of the finish:
“This is one of the best examples of this color that’s [sic] we’ve ever seen, but there’s as [sic] odd issue with the finish. The finish feels a bit softer than it should be. This makes it very difficult to clean as it leaves cloudy marks on the finish that’s only seen in direct reflections of light.”
http://oliviasvintageguitars.com/ricken ... tars/3733/I have eight other Rickenbackers and none of them have this issue, so I thought it might be peculiar to the AFG finish. It's gotten to the point where a piece of the finish on the back of the neck stuck to my hand while I was playing, and came off the guitar.
