Hi, all.

Is there a modded version of 4003 "Bridge bass 4 saddle adjustable , 00831"?
I'm wondering why the saddles and metal bar weren't made as one piece?

I switched my strings to flat wounds and had to intonate my bass.
While I was adjusting the saddle, the spring sprung and shot through
the kitchen and on into the living room. I still haven't found it.

So, my other question is how badly do I need the spring for tension?
I put the screw back in the saddle and placed the bridge in the tailpiece
and it's working fine.

Thanks,
Kate

I'm not sure I understand the first part of the question, but the springs are necessary to keep the saddle adjustment screws from backing out, and the intonation from shifting flat. Sometimes you have to cut a coil or more out to keep the spring from binding.
