Hi all
Bought myself a nice 1988 620/12, generally in very good condition. However it has not been used much for the last eight years and the neck needed some correction.
Initially the headstock rod nuts were very tight so I put some 3in1 on the nuts and left it for a couple of days. when I tried them next (with the correct tool) they were still tight but with a little back and forward easing they started to move. As I wanted to correct the relief to a straighter profile I tried adjusting the treble side rod by turning anti-clock. However the rod nut went loose and didn't adjust anything. The bass side nut also came loose and will only work to increase relief. The nuts are fine with no thread damage and easily thread up and down on the rods.
Totally lost now! strings are off and I have left the guitar to settle. But how do I get the rods to get back to their operating positions ?
Please someone enlighten me !
Roger Edgell

Hard to tell from your post, do you have a back bow or a forward bow?

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me.
It has an over bow - slight on the treble side - heavier on bass side.
I thought I had already posted a reply earlier today but cannot see it yet.
Regards
Roger.

Turn the nuts clockwise to correct a neck with too much relief also known as straightening out the "ski slope."
