Hey all,

A quick question: Do I have to file down the nut (or buy a new nut) on a Ric 620 if I want to string it up with 11 gauge flats (or 12 gauge flats)? If I do, how would I go about doing that? Thanks

Brizilla

String it up with your new strings and check the heigth at the 1st fret, if the strings are to high and they don't sit down in the nut slots then renotch the top nut to the specs of the new heavier guage strings. If you don't have a set of nut files($50.00 for the set)then consult a qualified repair shop, it's a simple job if experienced.
