I recently installed the bar (that was missing when I bought this guitar) for my accent tremelo on my 1967 365. It works fine except the bolt is always coming loose every I move it down. There is a washer under the bar (above the bolt)

Am I missing something(a part perhaps)? Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any fix?

Sorry, before I am accused of being an idiot. The washer is below the bolt and above the bar.

Sounds like you may be missing a tension washer.Try a drop of Loc-Tite thread locker on the threads, being careful not to get it on the finish. That should take care of your problem.Let us know how it works out.

im not familiar with the vibratos, but if you are missing a lock washer i'd just try replacing that first before the lock tite. you can get one of these at a hardware store for less than 50 cents.

that might do the trick.

The original vibrato arm had a nylon washer for a spacer while the reissues use a metal one.
I think the C Series 325 may have gone back to nylon?

Thanks for the quick response.

Two questions.
If I use this lock tite, will the bar be able to pivot up and down?

The washer that was on on the bolt (since I bought the guitar) is a flat metal washer. It appears original. Is there supposed to be another washer, or is it not the original? The threads on the bolt are quite short, it does not appear to be enough for another washer.

Thanks for all your help!

Both of my RIC's with (reissue) Accent Vibrato arms have a thin metal tension washer. The Loc-Tite is for the threads on the bolt ONLY,and keeps the bolt from loosening. The arm still swivels up & down just fine.I glued black plastic "Strat" type switch tips onto the pointed end,though...I don't want to impale my hand, and smash my beloved 325 or 360 in a fit of rage, ala' Pete Townsend...

Just so we're clear here, Townshend's accident was with a Fender, not a RIC vibrato.

Guys like I said the washer on ac'cent the vibrato was reissued with a metal washer, mainly on the 325v63.

In the 60's the washer was nylon.
