I just received my new 4005 (1979, actually.) It's gotten the whole treatment, new strings, toaster pickup installed in the neck position. The only problem is the neck relief: There is none! I know how to adjust rick necks and it seems like the trussrods in my 4005 are maxed out. Is there any kind of solution to this problem? Any help will be appreciated. |

Uh, you say the rods are maxed out but you want neck relief- unless you meant they're completely loose, then I don't get it. One loosens the rods to get relief. That being said, Rickenbacker instruments are designed to be set dead flat unless the intention is to use them with particularly floppy strings (as I said in another post). Otherwise the intonation is very difficult to set and the range of bridge height adjustment may not be sufficient. |

I probably wasn't clear enough. The problem is that there is too much relief. (The strings are too far from the fretboard and the trussrods are tightened to their limit.) What now? |
