Hi all,
I just had a significant milestone birthday and decided to purchase a '97 350v63 12 as a way to recognize it. I love this guitar, and it is going to cause me a lot of trouble with my job because I am not going to be able to sleep due to staying up all night playing it. I have a 360 6 string also and love them both.
The question I have is about this new 12 string, why is it so unique? It is a liverpool model, and supposedly John lennon model? why is it shorter than my 360? What was the reason Rickenbacker made these shorter? I love the three pickups on it, they are the toaster style ones, which look cool and I love the way this thing sounds. It is so easy to play. I am going to look over the previous forums regarding this guitar, but if you have any historical info about these guitars I would love to hear it.
thanks
Zeldah

The 350/12v63 is the full scale version of Lennon's 325, which is a 3/4 scale guitar. Your's has a more traditional full length neck. The body is the same on your 350 as on 325's but the pickup spacing is a little different. Other than that it's good to go and still has that awesome Lennon vibe to it. Congratulations on your present and belated happy birthday!

Major envy! :-) I'm looking to pick up a 12 soon, too.

Congrats. I'd be interested to know why it's shorter, too, since as far as I know there are only 2 scale sizes offered-- full and 3/4.

Enjoy it!

The 350 is a full scale guitar. The reason it appears smaller length than the 360 is that the body size of the 360 is larger. If you measure from the nut to the bridge on both guitars, you'll see they're exactly the same length.

OHHH...the big "four-o"...you deserve that nice RIC for making it this far! I hope that you're enjoying it.It should make those Minnesota nights a little warmer! My birthday is December 22nd,three days before Christmas...(>_<)...I think I'll buy myself that '80's Jetglo 4003 that I've been looking at,as a consolation prize..."This year,we bought you ONE gift, for Christmas AND your Birthday"...if I hear that one again,I'm gonna puke...

Great news! I treated myself to one a year or so ago while I was in between C Series releases. Great tone. Definitley different from the 360C63. It is a bit more comfortable to play for me because the body is smaller.

Happy Birthday and enjoy!

A very Happy Birthday to ya!

Great gift! My Mrs. just bought me a 325-64 Miami for my Birthday (Which is a few months away). I saw it in my local Guitar Shop and was drooling. LOL.

Enjoy it in good health for many years to come!
