Does anyone what the make/type is for 330/6 toggle switch ? Mine continues to snap back to center and needs to be replace. I should be able to purchase or order the same one at an electronics supply store rather than pay the ridiculous amount for the "orginal" part.

Thanks.

Actually, before you change the switch you could maybe take a look at the contacts and see if the one side that's springing back to center is maybe a little bent.Comparing the two contacts could show the fault and with a some careful tweaking and a little grease on the contacts you may find your switch to be as good as new.
I don't know how many times I've done that and everytime it's worked fine.
I also don't think the original part is that expensive. The RIC switches are very well made.

Should you have to replace the part, replace it with an original part. That will keep the value of your guitar up. Besides, a substitute switch will not hold up as well.

It's a Switchcraft model 6S3208 (handle not included). If you can find a better price for single units (and a place that will deal with you) more power to you.

But of course, you could just use some needle-nosed pliers and adjust the contacts for proper action, and not spend a nickel.

The tech who supposedly is a Rickenbacker "expert" in my area told me I needed to replace the switch. I had not removed the switch at the time when I first asked the question to inspect it so I did not know what the back of the toggle switch looked like or if there was anything I could adjust. shortly thereafter I saw some pictures of this switch on a parts website and it certainly does look like this is a simple case of bending the blades back. (I saw a switch that looks similar that was being sold as a replacement for a Gibson SG switch).

Thanks for the suggestion. I will certainly try to adjust this myself.

That doesn't appear to be a Switchcraft part number (at least not one of their catalog numbers).

That's not only what our purchase orders to them say, that's what's printed on the box.

Maybe their OEM numbers are different than consumer products.

I had the same problem with the switch on my '79 4001. I cleaned the contacts and adjusted them like JH suggested. It works fine since then.

I had the plastic pickguard/mounting plate off today, bent the blades a bit with a small needle nodes pliers and mission accomplished; Works perfectly now !

Thanks to all for your suggestions ! Didn't need to buy a new switch after all.
