Dear iiipopes,

I've been scoping out this forum and decided to join just to get the info on this lovely mod!

I have a 2014 360/12 with 7.4 ohm toasters and I was wondering if you could send me a step by step instruction for the mod. I'm not really interested in having the push pull, so I figure I'd just be adding the capacitor, but I don't want to screw it up! haha

Thank you for all your contributions over the years!

Even though this post is in reply to justthere2jangle, I believe it has general import.

If all a person wants to do is insert the .0047 inline capacitor as a permanent mod to the bridge pickup, on a guitar that does not already have it, then Mr. JH and crew already have a schematic to follow to replace the wire jumper with the capacitor as the jumper from the selector switch to the bridge pickup volume control.

Link to the schematic:
http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdfs/19502.pdf
Link to purchase the .0047 capacitor from the boutique:
http://boutique.rickenbacker.com/CAPACI ... p_754.html

If a person has a two-pickup guitar, and wants the .0047 in-or-out on the bridge pickup on a push-pull, then the same control as is now used on a 4003 can be used as the jumper. Wire the pot part of the control as the 5th knob control is currently wired, and wire the switch as is done on the 4003 bass. Remember that the third lug on the pot part of the control, when wired as the 5th knob on a 5-knob guitar, is not grounded to the pot casing.

Link to purchase the control from the boutique:
http://boutique.rickenbacker.com/POTENT ... p_666.html

Link to the 4003 schematic with vintage switch:
http://www.rickenbacker.com/pdfs/19557.pdf

So, that leaves the 3-pickup guitars. My original designs used a small-bodied DPDT push-pull pot that RIC does not sell in the boutique anymore.

It's been awhile, so it bears repeating what I posted early on:

OK, in order not to impinge on the hospitality of our hosts, I must say again I'm not connected with RIC in anyway. These are my own ideas, and there is no guarantee they will work. They do work on the guitars I've tried them out on. Like any mods, if you do this to a guitar still under warranty, it may void the warranty. If you're not comfortable with a soldering iron, have someone else do it for you that is to avoid possible damage to your guitar.

I should publicly thank Mr. JH, the company, and the forum for allowing me to post this thread and send off wiring mod diagrams from here. I don't know if other factory forums would even consider this extension of gracious hospitality.

Just make sure you honor the company with your mods by using real Rickenbacker sourced parts, whether through the boutique or through authorized dealers as may be the case in your particular area.

Thanks very much!

Additional question: any need for a "treble bleed"- or is that only good in wirings of teles ..?

I have a 360/12, am installing toasters, and would like to include the in/out switch. While Rickenbacker still sells the switch, the .0047 cap has to be sourced elsewhere. Anyhow, can you send me a copy of the wiring diagram you created? Many thanks!
