saw "the wrecking crew" last evening at the "museum of making music" in carlsbad, ca (at the NAMM HQ)

lots of beach boys coverage--there is a short cutaway to a picture of carl sitting in a studio holding a fireglo ric. too short for me to tell if it was a 6 or 12 str.

i'd not seen that photo before.

also, short sequence of roger mcguinn talking about how, of all the byrds, only he was proficient enough a musician to play during early recording sessions. crosby, hillman, et al. watched the wrecking crew studio pros get it done.

great movie! 8-)

Yep, great documentary. Hopefully Denny Tedesco will be able to raise the money needed for full-scale distribution of the film. I saw this a couple of years ago at the St. Louis Film Festival and have been following Denny's efforts since then. And yes, the film mentions that McGuinn was the only Byrd to play during the early recording sessions. Interesting that the Wrecking Crew could play such a variety of music, from Sinatra to the Monkees to the Beach Boys to the Byrds. Very talented group of musicians.
