The photos of George I've seen when he has his Gretsch Country Gent on, the guitar is right under his armpit and worn high, John wore his Ric much lower
To me George look shorter than the other guitarist in the Beatles, but had the biggest guitar! Some people are short but have big wide hands, it would be good to see their hand print Maybe the police still have them. We all know that really the Boys from the Beatles where fairly innocent lads, but fame and general experimentation got them in hot water Paul liked a puff, but I don't think he went too far,,,,his voice didn't seem affected and still sounded good

Ringo was (is ) five foot six.John about five eight and Paul about five nine.In the early days they all wore cuban heel boots (we all did). These boots would give another one and a quarter inches in height.

Lennon was 5'9.5 145#during the lost weekend, 135# in 1980. George and Paul were the tallest, 5'11 (Paul might've been a hair shorter, no pun intended)

I think 5ft 8 is probably realistic. Hence, Gibson's website stating most people were surprised at how small Lennon was. Yoko Ono is 4ft 11" - my old boss went to the Dakota building and met her numerous times and confirmed she was quite tiny.

Well, Lennon doesn't seem super short, even when playing his Casino, which of course is a full-sized hollow-body. My guess is that he and the other Beatles were of average height. Also, don't forget that it was the style in the early 60's to wear guitars very high up--much higher than we do today.

Size 8.5 boots, that is interesting. I sold mens shoes for Bally and clothes for the british brand Jaeger from 17 years of age to 24 (whilst a student and a poor musician) and the average british man was back then:
height 5.9 Shoe size 8 Chest 40" Neck 15.5"
Incidentally, i went to John's childhome the other week in Liverpool. Amazing!

Those statistics sound about right! The only thing to mention is UK and USA shoe sizes vary here would be the approx' equivalent UK men's shoe size 8.5 = USA 9.5, AUST 8.5, Euro, 42 or 43? Brand sizes vary to boot! jbudweiser
