Sorry, man. I picked up the new Guitar World, and he doesn't mention a Ric at all. I can't quote the interview directly, but he used a Gibson LP, Stratotone (Harmony), and some other dohookie. No Rics. :(

Well, this is an interview in Guitar World where he plainly states for El Camino that he mainly used a '53 LP, and mentions the Stratotone, but never a Rickenbacker or even the mention of one.

So the sources appear to disagree, possibly (perhaps because of editing) -- who's to say Guitar World is 100 percent right and Gitarre & Bass is 100 percent wrong?

Anyway, from hearing the material I can "imagine" some rick-guitar used very well.
