Hey everybody, is anyone here a fan of the british band Mansun? They were around from 1995-2003 and put out 3 studio albums and a 3CD posthumous box set including their fourth album and a bunch of rarities. One of my favorite bands, and lead singer/rhythm guitarist/songwriter Paul Draper played Les Pauls and more prominently in their mid to late period, a jetglo Ric 330. Any fans out there?

I have one Cd by them and enjoy the heck out of it. They and Supergrass I saw as a hope for the future of British rock.

Well, I still think they're cool, but British rock keeps picking a new flavor every month.

Which Mansun album do you have? I love them all but I think "Six" is their masterpiece....proggy and long and dense and just amazing.

Agree: people talk about the British having *such* better taste in music than Americans, but the Arctic Monkeys are at the top of the charts in England. I rest my case. At least Supergrass still rules (the Road to Rouen album is AWESOME).

Mansun indeed rocks. I did not know that Paul Draper played Rics...very cool!

Yeah Paul mainly played either a black Les Paul or a "half 'n half" red/black Les Paul onstage until about 1998, when he started alternating with a jetglo 330. It seems that from 2000 until they're breakup he used the Ric exclusively onstage.

And I agree, for every one band that the UK press champions that turns out to be good (Franz Ferdinand) there's a load more rubbish (Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, etc)

Very cool song, very cool cd.
