I'm listening to their first album right now, and I have never heard Rickenbackers exploited this way before. There's the traditional jangle rhythm sound, and then a killer lead on every song.
Why are these guys not more popular?

Why are these guys not more popular? Well, who says they're not? But popularity is not determined by creative use of Rickenbackers. However, in my world, they are / were really popular, especially in their heyday of the 80s where the regularly charted singles, including "Only a Memory" at No. 1, I believe. "A Girl Like You" was also on every radio station in the country for a while there, and all over MTV. And Blood and Roses remains a classic track.

In a strange way, the same can be said about Johnny Marr and Peter Buck in some cases...

But yes, we did do a poster that featured them, lent some instruments for music video shoots and we had a good personal relationship. That personal relationship continued through the years and of course, they were most accomodating to play for us at our 75th anniversary celebration almost 6 years ago.
