Saks acquired a guitar that was supposed to have gone to New York with my dad. He had it signed at a later date and wasn't even present for the signing.

Oh . . . OK

So, Was this guitar being misrepresented where your father didn't want to be associated with it or Saks ? ? ?

If I recall what I have read correctly, The Beatles signed that 365 when they made their tour stop in Baltimore, in 1964.

Ok . . . I went and dug out my pic with the guitar last night and I found an 8X10 that they gave/sold me back in 1979. Here the link to a scan of the photo:

(sarcasm on)I think the dolls taped to the guitar really add some class to it!(sarcasm off)

So it doesn't answer the question of where it is now, but it's a photo at least. I'll spare you the photo of me holding the thing!

Yeah, that's the same pic that's in the Smith book. Nice typewritten captions - no expense spared there!

Seems to be a "bit" of revisionist history in the caption card. It sounds like he was there with Mr. Hall and then had "the lads" sign it "with permission of the London office".

And when he states that it was played by all four Beatles, I can't imagine that Ringo did much beyond hold it. Unless I am mistaken, he played drums most of the time and some other percussion stuff as well (sarcasm here). Maybe he turned it over to see if it made a better sound than a drum case for the tune "What You're Doing"...

Okay, sort of begging the question: Who is he, just a music teacher who snagged a cool guitar?

There is a Restaurant in Virginia Beach, VA called the Rockfish that has a collection of Beatles items. I have seen the Strat that was suppose to belong to George Harrison but I don't remember any RIC's

What kind of lunatic would ask someone to graffiti a gorgeous Rickenbacker?
