Quote: Mr.Hall, I still laugh to myself about that email you sent me explaining the Susanna Hoffs LE... That was good stuff! Hey, c'mon. Share it. The rest of us could use a good laugh too. Or is this a "private joke" or maybe a bit "off color"? Then just don't include Mr. Hall's name so he won't be embarassed. Look, the whole reason I started this thread is to get to the bottom of this "Susanna Is Hot" thing. Don't hold out on me now! |

Quote: Susanna's good looking and it was always cool to see a female pop star who could do more than just stand there singing with a microphone and no other instrument. Or else strumming the atypical acoustic guitar(nothing against acoustics, it's just that for the longest time, that an overwhelming majority(yes , there were exceptions)of female singers/pop stars played acoustics exclusively) |

A little discussion at the end of our animated music video gives our explanation why so many women play acoustic guitar. The video can be seen at: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 2028716504 |

Oh Yeah! That 80's hair was great-looking, as well. Very hot! |

I've always loved Susanna and the Bangles, from the first EP (how can you not like a Jules Shear song when someone else does it!). The Bangles new stuff is wonderful, check it out on their website. Sure, they went thourgh that period in the 80's when they clearly had some record company "guidance" that forever damaged their reputation in some people's eyes. If you're ever discussing them with someone who only remembers the crummy videos etc., remind them that when they got signed they had to change their name from the Bangs to the Bangles. That always changes opinions. |

I agree- in my opinion, the Bangles are vastly underrated. Doll Revolution is their best album to date. Also take a look at their just-released DVD of their L.A. House of Blues 2000 Concert. It's a very guitar-oriented show. |

I also agree that Doll Revolution is a very, very strong album, all the way through. Evinces maturity, much exquisite arrangement, and it also rocks. And be sure to check out the semi-acoustic version of Ride the Ride on that new DVD. If *that* performance by Susanna doesn't shoot Cupid's arrows through your heart, well...

Quote: Um...I always preferred Michael Steele, the band's bass player. So did Father Guido Sarducci. It was a running joke in a radio appearance he did. At that time I don't think he knew that she wasn't into guys. |

Let's keep the topic on track on Susanna's use of Rickenbacker instruments, her music, band and influence please! No discussion of certain way off topic "preferences" of the artists that have nothing to do with music! |
