I don't know if anybody's seen the other news, but it looks like Peter Buck isn't the only rock star in bad luck. Noel Gallagher, also a RIC user (330) was attacked onstage (!) and pushed over his monitors by some 47 year-old in his mid-life crisis. (see YouTube)

Stolen guitar, attacks onstage. Hm. I'm a bit shocked, anyone who's ever played live sees news about a bit of a nightmare come true. Rock'n Roll or bad times to hit the stage (no pun intended)..?
Wonder how you guys think about this..

Bet he wouldn't try that on Gene Simmons, might have poked his eye out.

Yeah, the worst stage attack I can remember was against Dimebag Darrell. He was not playing a Rick but it was extreme and horrible. Seems like either security is becoming more lax and less effictive, or that there is a huge increase in nuts attending shows.

If you ever see this guy:

...shoot him on sight! He's bad news!

I once shoved a guy off the stage who had jumped up and was dancing around bumping into things; once I had to catch my mic stand, and he'd bumped into my guitar, that was it-I'd had enough.

Sounds familiar. But then, hey, I like club gigs and that. Worst thing I had so far was some guy spilling Coke (!) over my 325. Luckily, it was still in the case, but some drops made it to the guitars finish. Wouldn't take the C-12 there, I gues. But that somehow defeats the purpose of having such a nice guitar, right?

Wonder wether Noel's Gibson got damaged, then. First thing he's said to have checked was his axe..

Maynard of TOOL had his Steinberger 6-string "grow legs" at an arena gig in Toronto on the Lateralus tour. There was heck to pay for that.
Also, a dressing room security guy told me that Stephen Stills lost a one-of-a-kind zillion dollar Martin on the road. Stills was OK with it, but his tech was sick about it. Luckily for him, Stills was the one who "just left it somewhere." Somewhat of a stage attack I saw: our backstage catering woman at the second stage at the Eurockéennes de Belfort Festival in France tied a guitar cable around her neck and to the lighting rig at the rear and let go. Luckily she didn't fall hard and only started to strangle. A stagehand quickly cut her down and she recovered after a couple minutes. The cops came and said it wasn't against the law in France to commit suicide. The other catering woman said she was "dérangée" and wanted attention.

I have seen the Devil, and he is me!

One of my least favorite things that happens at a club gig, is some drunk thinks it will be funny to try to turn the tuning keys whenever your guitar's headstock comes near. I've kicked people for that.

Don't get me wrong, I like getting rowdy every now and again, but delibrately trying to ruin everyone else's night is a dumb idea and not likely to make you any friends.

I can vouch for that, personally!
