Hi folks, i'm new to the world of Rickenbackers and i'm looking for more (auditive) information on the 650 series (especially the 650D). I could only found one sound clip on the net and it was basically a modern rock riff with no lead playing so i'd like to know if 650 owners have clips... By the way my sound gravitates towards 70s Stones, Humble Pie, MC5, Alice Cooper and classic blues rock. My amp is a Marshall 1974x combo...

Later guys !

Well I don't have one, but I hear the humbuckers I really clean sounding with no buzz or anything. Since it's a solidbody i'm sure it'll sound warmer than a single coil (less treble) In the end I hear that they still sound very different from any other guitar with humbuckers.

Do a search on the forum, there have been many topics comparing humbuckers to hi gains and toasters, and also general raves and info on humbucker equipped guitars of the 650 series, also here is a link to Rickenbacker user reviews at Harmony Central:

Your guitar and all the other 650 series are listed. Don't forget to write your own review for posterity when you get to play your axe! ;-)

Cheers, Kez

If you send me an e-mail to markushorn@doctorno.de, I will send you some examples of the 650´s sound - just homerecorded material, but it might help you.
