This is my 2000 660 six string. I made a few changes to make it perfect for me: exchanged white for gold plastics, added an R tailpiece and conversion bracket, bridge and pickup changes and a re-fret with Dunlop 6105 wire.

It is a magnificent guitar. I've owned 620s, 360s and a 381. I found the wider 660 neck more comfortable than any of these, and the larger frets were the icing on the cake.

I have the 360/12CW and the 381/12V69, both great sounding guitars. And if I played them all the time, I suppose I could get used to the very narrow necks for a 12 string (my 350/6V63 is just fine since it's a 6 string); but since I play other guitars at gigs and sessions (les paul, Gibson Johnny A, PRS, Tele's what have you), I find that it takes a bit when switch, especially live, to adjust.

I'm considering a 660/12 to solve that problem, but I really like the semi-hollow sounds I get from the 360 and the 381. Too bad Rickenback doesn't have a wider neck option for those. But the 660 is the only one about which I know that has the 1.75" neck (as opposed to the 1.63" neck for the others).

Also, on stage, the 360 or 381 just look more "Byrds" or "Beatles" like. Oh well. Maybe they'll make me a custom on in less than a geologic age ... naaaaah!

Well I've had the 330 for nearly two years now and there's no problem with the neck-plenty of room. ( I actually had to get new notches cut on both E strings bringing the strings in closer and it is still fine) I'm looking forward to getting a 360 though. I think the only time i would get a 660 is if i was looking for a 12 string as then I think the necks on the 300 series would be too small. To be honest I think a 12 string would be too inconvenient for me as my hands constantly sweat. I can't keep my strings on for any longer than a month (that's pushing it) and by that time they are well past their best. Having to do that with a 12 string would be expensive. I try to compensate by using my Vox AC30 VR with a jigglebox, CE-2 Chorus and a lovely little Boss pedal called a pitch shifter. If i use that (hardly turning up the main control-a slight clockwise turn, no more) it gives the guitar a lovely ringing melodic tone. It may not be a 12 string but it sounds good.

Jungle Blox? I thought the two companies resolved that matter... :(

Hmmm, let's see: I have a JiggleBlox 2 (the silver one), and it works fine with my Ric 380/12V69.

Sorry sometimes the fingers move to fast. I meant Junglebox.

It used to be censored as jiggle blox, which is an image I can't get out of my head.

Why's that surprising? It's what you use to get a jiggle jangle sound.

I'm just bidding my time until a left-handed 660/6 is available. :)
